Cedarburg Hauser Pharmaceuticals has expanded it project management team in Colorado with the hiring of Ryan Westberry. Ryan Westberry brings 8+ years of project management experience to the Cedarburg Hauser Pharmaceutical team. He has held key project management positions at leading biotech companies such as Eppendorf and GE Healthcare. The expansion of the project management team in Colorado is an initiative to synergize the capabilities of the Wisconsin and Colorado facilities and streamline business processes.

Acquisition creates a leader in Contract Development and Manufacturing

Grafton, WI. (March 17, 2009) – Cedarburg Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“Cedarburg”) -- a privately owned chemistry-based Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (“CDMO”) specializing in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API’s) and key intermediates for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries announced today its acquisition of InB: Hauser Pharmaceutical Services (“Hauser”). The acquisition further strengthens Cedarburg’s position as a leader in the rapidly growing CDMO market and leverages the trusted reputation and synergistic capabilities of both companies to offer clients a more fully-integrated manufacturing platform strategically focused on helping client’s move new chemical entities (NCE’s) to market.

Hauser’s expertise in natural products, isolation/ purification and cGMP manufacturing augment Cedarburg’s synthetic chemistry and cGMP manufacturing expertise and effectively broadens the overall service capabilities offered to clients. The acquisition expands Cedarburg’s extensive inventory of unit operations and comprehensive analytical instrumentation to include NMR and MALS and further amplifies Cedarburg’s toll manufacturing capabilities for the production of API’s and key intermediates.

The newly formed company doing business as Cedarburg Hauser Pharmaceuticals, will offer customers a broad range of best-in-class pharmaceutical services to meet the development and production needs of its clients. Both companies offer a combined 34-year history working in the pharmaceutical industry, proven turn-key cGMP compliance systems, and seasoned professionals specialized in providing highly customized process and analytical chemistry from the bench through commercial production.

With over 70,000 + square feet of multi-purpose US-based FDA-registered facilities (process development laboratories, kilo and commercial scale manufacturing suites, analytical and microbiology laboratories, stability and material sample storage) the combined operations will focus on the following specialty areas: Highly customized NCE’s requiring complex chemistry, Cytotoxic & Potent API’s, Naturally Derived & Semi-Synthetic API’s, Controlled Substances, Commercial cGMP API manufacturing, and High-Value Dietary Supplements and Cosmetics (ACI’s).
